 | | Step 2: Sign up for the Adeva weight management programme | It has been said that a diet always starts on a Monday but which month exactly, and which year? And how often has the diet come to a sudden crash the following Friday? The key is motivation. But finding the motivation and sticking to the programme when you are all on your own, can be hard.
For this very reason Adeva offers everybody who is serious about their weight loss to join our weight management programme. It has been designed to help people get off to the best possible start, and stay motivated until the desired goals have been achieved. Joining the programme itself is completely free of charge. Through the Adeva Weight Management Programme you will receive continuous motivation to help you stick to your programme and the opportunity to regularly monitor your progress.  | | Step 3: Understanding why you gain weight | At Adeva we don`t believe you can really do anything about your weight problem - or any problem - before you truly understand what causes it and the mechanisms behind. Processed sugar is spelled D.A.N.G.E.R.O.U.S.
All the cells in our bodies need "fuel" to function, energy that is derived from glucose that we consume. When the source of glucose is complex carbohydrates such as raw fruit and vegetables, blood glucose levels stay within the healthy range. These sugars are absorbed slowly and naturally and fuel the body over a long time, like large logs do a fire. Refined and processed sugars, however, as found in white bread, cool drinks, candy, fast food, etc., are not natural and make blood glucose levels skyrocket and is rapidly converted to fat in the body. To make matters worse, refined sugars trigger an excessive release of the hormone insulin, which makes glucose levels fall suddenly, making you feel tired and hungry in spite of just having eaten. This can be compared to lighting a fire with petrol - it flames up with a bang, but cannot be sustained. The Adeva booklet gives suggestions to which sugars to dig on and which to stay clear of.
Too much FAT
Oil is the other calorie culprit. Saturated fats, such as industrial cooking oil and animal fat is loaded with calories and is detrimental to the cardiovascular system, clogging up arteries and leading to heart disease, blood pressure and premature death. From a business point of view one should remember that fast-food outlets and most food manufacturers would use the cheapest and easiest ingredients available as long as it tastes good enough to sell their product. Their main concern is taste, not nutrition - it is up to you to look after your body. The oils and sugars used are usually cheap and highly refined and cannot be properly broken down or digested by our bodies, so they are turned into harmful excess fat. The vast majority of processed food harm your body and destroy your weight loss ambitions, so you have to get into the habit of checking the lists of ingredients in food carefully to find safe products that are both healthy and nutritious.
Lack of THYROID "power"?
The thyroid gland is the regulator of the body`s metabolism. Situated in the neck, this little gland is responsible for secreting the hormones that control the metabolic rate of every cell in the body. Hypothyroidism is a condition that occurs when the thyroid gland does not function properly. People suffering from hypothyroidism find it very hard to lose weight, regardless of their eating habits. This is often the result of an iodine deficiency, which can easily be rectified with the right supplements that contain tyrosine, potassium iodate and guggulipid.
